Sound Devices AstralⓇ Series to be on Display at IBC 2024
A20-SuperNexus receiver to make its IBC debut
AMSTERDAM, NL, September 6, 2024 — Sound Devices is proud to announce that they will be appearing at the 2024 IBC Convention at RAI Amsterdam from September 13-16, 2024. The brand will be giving demonstrations of Astral-series wireless products, including the recently released A20-SuperNexus receiver and the new A20-Outpost system. Sound Devices will be located at stand 8.C97 during the convention. For more information, please click here.
The Sound Devices’ Astral series family of wireless products have rapidly expanded into one of the most versatile and feature-laden RF toolkits available to professionals today. The A20-SuperNexus receiver builds upon the game-changing features of the A20-Nexus and A20-Nexus Go receivers by offering even more channels, flexibility, and versatility in a compact wireless receiver than ever before. A 16-channel receiver with Sound Devices’ HexVersityⓇ (2-to-6-antenna diversity), A20-SuperNexus offers up to 32 channels of clean, reliable RF in a single, compact 1U 19” rack unit. A20-SuperNexus, like many Astral-series products, is operable worldwide due to its unprecedented 169-1525 MHz global tuning range courtesy of Sound Devices’ category-defining SpectraBand Technology. The A20-SuperNexus receiver also includes the new RF Mirror Mode for full redundant operation.
Sound Devices will also be showcasing the new A20-Outpost-NL for remote-mounted NexLinkⓇ antennae via Ethernet. The A20-Outpost-NL, powered by PoE or USB-C input, extends long-distance control of all A20 transmitters, allowing them to be located near the action. A single unit can be deployed in large venues like stadiums, with its antennas located near the transmitters rather than at the equipment rack. The A20-Opto expansion box adds native Optocore audio I/O to the A20-SuperNexus receiver for DiGiCo console interconnectivity, and will be available for shipping in the Fall. Used together, these make the Astral series some of the most compact, full-featured wireless products on the market, ideal for a wide range of live sound and touring applications.
“The Astral series was conceived as an all-in-one toolkit to address wireless needs for both location sound and live production professionals,” said Sound Devices Vice President of Sales Andy “Baggy” Robinson. “With A20-SuperNexus, we’re building off of those innovations in wireless versatility and reliability to provide a receiver that can live up to our reputation for versatile, hardy gear that is utterly reliable in any circumstance. We’re very proud to be able to showcase this, alongside the rest of the Astral family, at IBC this year.”
